Troubleshooting Hints for the DR-UA124X & Windows 95. These tips only apply to version 2.10 of the Pioneer ATAPI Miniport Driver for Windows95. Tip 1: When the DR-UA124X is only device connected to the secondary IDE channel, and long delays occur during the booting of Windows95, then set the jumper on the back of the drive to MA (Master). Tip 2: Double click on "My Computer". While pointing at the C: drive, press the right mouse button, and select "Explore". Go to "\Windows\System\iosubsys". If the file "Esdi_506.org" exists, rename it to "Esdi_506.pdr". The file "Esdi_506.pdr" must be present in this location. If this file is not on your hard disk, run this command from the original Windows95 CD-ROM : extract Win95_05.cab esdi_506.pdr /L: c:\Windows\System\iosubsys Or extract the file from diskette number five of the Windows95 installation disks. Tip 3: Configurations that use the Intel PIIx IDE drivers (most motherboards using the Intel Triton chipset), and already have Windows95 installed (having used the hardware autodetect wizard), can try the following : 1. Change the jumper on the back of the DR-UA124X from SL (Slave) to CS (Channel Select). 2. Turn on the system, and press F8 when the "Windows95 is starting" message is displayed. 3. From the list, select "Safe Mode". 4. Follow below: Double Click On: My Computer Control Panels System Click on: Device Managers Hard Disk Controllers Try to remove all the device drivers in this section, by selecting them and clicking on the "Remove" button. 5. Reboot the system, it will come up with a window saying "New Hardware Detected". Click the "Select from list" line, click OK. Click the "All models" line. Select "(Standard IDE drivers) from the left scroll window. Select "Standard IDE/ESDI HardDisk Controller" from the right scroll window. Click OK and reboot the system. 6.
